Even though many homes still sport pumpkins on their porches, it’s time already for the holiday craft fair season.
The third annual Holiday Market will be open this Saturday at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds for a festive day of shopping and holiday cheer.
The five-hour event, held in the California Landscaping Supply Floriculture Building, gets underway at 10 a.m. Parking and admission are free.
More than 80 local vendors will be on site, featuring handmade goods, vintage finds, collectibles, baked treats, and delicious food.
Some of the vendors slate to appear include Berry Good Funnel Cakes, A Touch of Glass, Barkn Bits, Mimi’s Barn Designs, Legacy Toffee, Old French Trading Co., Psychic Eye, Scent Your Life, Vintage 64, Sew Cute by Bonnie & Kim and many others.
There will also be crafts for kids, pictures with Santa Claus, and a chance to write ol’ St. Nick a letter.
Last year’s attendance was estimated around 3,000 guests, so plan to arrive early.
“It was pretty packed last year,” said Maci Smith, marketing director for the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. “This event has grown every year, and we’re thinking about expanding next year to a second night; that’s something that’s in the works. It’s exciting.”
Not only does the event give local businesses and entrepreneurs a chance to feature their wares and customers a pleasant holiday event, but its helps sustain the fairgrounds year-round.
“This will be a part indoor and part outdoor event,” said Smith. “There will also be free mimosas. The Friends of the Fair Foundation will be sponsoring those.”
And if you miss out on the Holiday Market, don’t fret. The 12th annual Hilmar Holiday Expo will be held Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hilmar Grante Hall, 8188 Lander Ave. Admission is free.
More than 40 venders are expected to attend, with a variety of food and beverage trucks on site. Raffle prizes – such as cash, tickets to Disneyland and other surprise items – will be awarded throughout the day. Bring a new boxed toy and receive a free raffle ticket.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit families of the Hilmar-Stevinson community.
The 10th annual Pageo Holiday Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 28 at the local lavender farm at 11573 Golf Rd. in Turlock. This event features music, food trucks, drinks and unique handmade gifts from local artisans.
Dust Bowl Brewing Co. will once again host The Market vendors for a holiday shopping event from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 29 at 3000 Fulkerth Rd., Turlock. This 2nd annual event will feature many of the vendors that make up The Market in downtown Turlock on Saturday mornings with gifts perfect for the holidays, along with sweet treats and fresh bread. Dust Bowl will offer food and drinks, along with Christmas music and holiday cheer.
