What began as an idea to give area mothers some camaraderie, the Turlock Moms Club has gradually grown into a vibrant nonprofit that has become a staple for several community members.
This Sunday, the club is celebrating its fourth year anniversary with a Fall Family Festival, a free event featuring games, artisan vendors, complimentary kids crafts, music, raffle prizes and appearances from Spider-Man and Rapunzel. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2300 E. Zeering Rd. in Denair.
The Turlock Moms Club held a similar event in 2023 to commemorate one year since it was founded by local mother Alicia Turino. Since then, it has blossomed into a booming 501(c)(3) organization.
The mission of the club, according to Turino, is aimed at “strengthening the community through various philanthropic initiatives and activities. Beyond offering a supportive network for moms, the club organizes events like a reading club, playdates for children, and social gatherings to help mothers connect and thrive.”
Some of the club’s community service efforts include serving dinners at the We Care men’s homeless shelter, organizing park clean-up events, and making Christmas donations to the Turlock Gospel Mission.
“These acts of kindness reflect the club's dedication to making a positive impact while fostering a sense of camaraderie among mothers,” said Turino. “Whether it’s giving back through volunteer work or creating spaces for fun and friendship, the Turlock Moms' Club is a cornerstone of compassion in the community.”
