Through exemplary nursing and staff, Turlock’s CovenantCare at Home — a local medical agency providing in-home nursing and therapy — has been named as one of the top-performing health agencies in the nation.

Each year, the HomeCare elite identifies the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies while highlighting the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Being named one of the top agencies of the 2013 HomeCare Elite, CovenantCare at Home has been recognized for quality practice, implementation and patient experience.

Out of the 9,969 agencies considered for the award, 2,496 are deemed “elite.” To be considered, each agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare — a government organization dedicated to helping families find quality home health agencies throughout the nation.

“The 2013 HomeCare elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered care and serving as leaders in the home health community,” said Mary Oakes, senior vice president of post-acute at National Research. “Their success is a tribute that managing healthcare data and utilizing it for improvement initiatives lead to high quality care, and we recognize them for their outstanding achievements. We congratulate CovenantCare at Home on being recognized as a top home care agency.”

CovenantCare at Home Administrator Ronda Malmberg says that the award is due to the excellent staff and nurses at the agency who truly care about their patients.

“We have achieved this status every year and our quality shows in our patient satisfaction,” said Malmberg.

CovenantCare at Home provides in-home nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, along with social services, to most insurances and a variety of providers including hospitals in the Central Valley and many Bay Area hospitals. It is slated to take over operations of Hospice of Emanuel by year’s end.
