A memorial service for Ashlie Lin Myers, 22, will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Stanislaus County. She died Aug. 19, 2009, in Modesto from complications of Lupus.
Ashlie always exhibited her giving and independent spirit in equal measures and was a wonderful mother to her 10-month-old son, Maverick. She graduated from Pitman High School in 2005, and never let her illness keep her from achieving her goals. She loved to tell jokes and we will all remember the inventive ways she had to express her feelings. Her kindness to animals left us with many cats, but they now remind us of her loving spirit. She wasn’t afraid of anything and lived her life so fully.
She is survived by her mother, Lin Myers; stepfather, AJ Furtado; sisters, Tiffany Macias and Celeste Mitchell; brother, Logan Bowers; fiancé, Nathan Paul; and son, Maverick.
Contributions to a college fund for her son, Maverick Myers, can be made at any local Wells Fargo Bank or to the Lupus Foundation of America. Please share your memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com. Allen Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
