David Wilbur 89, of Turlock, Ca. passed away peacefully in his sleep at Paramount Assisted Living, Turlock Ca., on Thursday January 26, 2012.  He was born August 18, 1922 in Merced Ca., to his mother Myrtle I. Fleming and his father Henry Wilbur.  David grew up in Delhi, Ca. where he attended Delhi Elementary and Livingston High School. 
He was a World War II Honoree of the US Army, serving the Pacific Theatre of Guadalcanal and the Philippines.  After his service to his country he resided in Modesto, Ca. where he owned and operated “Dave’s Chevron Stations” on McHenry and Orangeburg.  He later worked for the city of Modesto repairing and servicing city parking meters until retirement in 1985. 
David enjoyed boating, fishing, water skiing and his beloved dogs.  He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Mary J. Pope and mother Myrtle I. Angell.  He is survived by two daughters, 5 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and unlimited friends and loved ones.  Services will be held at a later date.
