With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a beautiful life filled with love, we share the passing of Diane McDaniel, who left this world on August 20, 2026, following a courageous and strong battle with cancer.
Diane was the kindest, most loving, and caring soul. Known for her contagious laugh and a smile that could completely light up a room, she brought warmth, joy, and comfort to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a beloved Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Auntie, and Friend, and her family was the center of her world.
Diane grew up surrounded by family, sharing her childhood with her two sisters, one brother, and many cousins. Some of her fondest memories were made during the times when everyone would come together. There was always laughter, fun, and a little bit of mischief when the family gathered, creating the kind of treasured memories that stayed with Diane throughout her life.
The love and closeness she shared with her siblings and cousins remained an important part of who she was, and those special family gatherings became memories to be cherished forever.
Diane adored and cherished her family, and her six grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren, and found endless happiness in cheering loudly at her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Their accomplishments, big and small, brought her tremendous joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
An avid reader and passionate gardener, Diane found peace and happiness in a good book and in tending to her precious flowers and plants. She also loved trying new recipes and sharing the delicious results with the people she loved. Those who knew Diane will also remember her beautiful handwriting, a small but unmistakable reflection of the care and thoughtfulness she brought to everything she did. Whether she was reading, experimenting in the kitchen, working in her garden, chatting with family or friends, or celebrating her grandchildren, Diane had a
remarkable ability to make the people around her feel loved and cared for.
Diane leaves behind her beloved mother, Agnes Land; her sisters, Vicky Land and Tami Anderson (Kenneth); her children, Jeremy (Brooke) Plaa and April (Andy) Walker; and her six cherished grandchildren, Braden, Tanner, Jenna, Drew, Nolan, and Taylor. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing and loving her.
Diane leaves behind a beautiful legacy of extraordinary kindness, unconditional love, and
devotion to her family and friends. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable emptiness, the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.We find comfort in knowing that Diane has been peacefully reunited in heaven with the many loved ones who went before her, including her beloved husband, Frederick McDaniel, father, Bud Land, and brother, Michael Land.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family, friends, and especially her six precious grandchildren, who will carry her love with them always. To know her was to love her and we will forever and always let that love live on until we meet again.
Diane’s Celebration of Life will be at Turlock Funeral Home, on Saturday September 19th at 10:00am.
