Doris Elizabeth Pearson, age 101, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was born in Irwin, California to Enfred and Lettie Challberg. She attended schools in Hilmar and then graduated from Providence School of Nursing in 1932. She worked as an RN until she enlisted in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps, in 1942. She settled back in Hilmar in 1946, and married Art Pearson in 1947. During her married years, she continued working as an RN. She volunteered at Emanuel hospital and for the blood bank after retirement. Doris was a member at the Berea Lutheran church and lifetime member of the Turlock V.F.W.. Her passions included traveling, gardening, watching tv, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her twin sister Dorothy Klee of Turlock and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were held at the Hilmar Cemetery.
