Dorris E. Conner, 97 of Turlock, passed away early Saturday morning after a brief illness. She was born in North Dakota to Carl & Millie Fredrickson. At age 7, Doris moved with her family to California, where they lived in Kingsburg for a brief time before coming to Turlock in the 1920’s. She married Clifford Conner and moved to Yuba City, returning to Turlock in 1955. She was the bookkeeper for Puccinilli Proccessing and later Roger Brothers. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Turlock for many years where she sang in the choir, baked cookies and prepared salads with the ladies of the church. She loved to golf and won a ladies championship tournament while in Yuba City.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Conner and her son, Wayne Clifford Conner.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Rice and Marlene (Gene) Barber. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7pm on Thursday, August 22 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Turlock Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church, 180 S. Denair Street, Turlock, CA 95380.
