She was born in Ventura, Calif. to Basil and Clara Norman. Evelyn was raised in San Francisco then moved to Modesto in the early 1950s and settled in Escalon in 1967.
She retired from Hershey Chocolate in Oakdale after 23 years. Evelyn belonged to the Native Daughters of the Golden West, Morada Parlor No.199. She loved to garden and she enjoyed reading and watching her bird feeders.
She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Helsby of Modesto, Barbara Silva of Manteca, and Katherine Spearman of Modesto; grandchildren Lynn, Melissa, Michael and Marie; and 10 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind six stepchildren, 17 step grandchildren, and 20 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll, who passed away in 2004 after enjoying 35 loving years together; her parents; two sisters and three brothers.
A private inurnment will be held at the Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
