Joaquin (Jay) Pimentel Mendonca Jr.

Joaquin Pimentel Mendonca Jr. known to most as “Jay” passed away this week.  Born in Livingston, CA in the fall of 1933, Jay was a proud Army Veteran where he worked as a heavy vehicle driver and achieved the rank of corporal.  After his military service Jay worked at a cannery where he became a supervisor.

Jay was a very articulate, meticulous man who loved collectable cars and won many awards throughout the years.  He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.   Jay’s shiny black boots were his pride and joy, but most of all he loved his family and being with them.  He will be deeply, deeply missed.

Jay is survived by his children Marla Stegell, Trina Miller, Carrie Kirshner; sister Elsie Straits; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Jay was preceded in death by his children Debbie Peliter, Timmy Mendonca; his parents Joaquin and Mary Mendonca and his sister Mary Cardoza.

A Viewing will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. with the Rosary at 6 p.m. at Allen Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock.  Donations in Jay’s name may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, Turlock.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com
