Kathleen Lucille Eckle was born in San Luis Obispo, California to Ralph & Frances Scott.

Kathleen ended her journey in this world surrounded by family on April 5, 2019 and went home to be with her Lord.

She moved to the Turlock area as a toddler and graduated from Hilmar High School. She then attended San Jose Bible College where she met the love of her life, Duane “Tim” Eckle. They were married on June 8, 1954 and lived in the San Jose area for three years before relocating to the Turlock area.  She graduated from Stanislaus State College with her teaching credential and went on to be a substitute teacher for many years. She also spent many years as a seamstress and was a merchandiser for American Greetings for over twenty-five years before retiring.

Kathleen was a member of Sunrise Christian Church where she played the organ and piano for over fifty years and taught Sunday school for many years. She loved her Lord to the very end and raised her family to do the same. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with friends and family to explore God’s creations, roller skating every chance she got, and going for long walks.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughters, Katy Eckle and Cindy (husband Luke) DeBoard, her son, Tim (wife Gina) Eckle, her grandchildren, Jeremy (wife Melanie), Jessica, Josh, and Jacob, and her great-grandchildren, Julia, Jayden, Lily, Lola, and her namesake, Lucy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Lakewood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
