Micheal Robbins was interred in a private ceremony on Oct. 9. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Gateway Community Church, 3350 Lester Rd., in Denair. Those who knew and loved him are invited to attend at that time.
Michael was born in New Hampshire and relocated to California as a child. He was a member of a large, loving family and had friends from coast to coast. Michael had a zest for life and lived life to its fullest. He will be remembered as a man who loved and helped many, opening his home and heart through the years to countless others. Generous of heart and strong of faith, Michael will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Michael was a member of Gateway Community Church, and served as chaplain for Steering Wheel Ministries. Michael was a truck driver by trade, and most recently owned and operated a truck appropriately named “Amazing Grace.”
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Robbins; children, Michael Robbins Jr. and Heather Hamilton; grandson, Dylan Hamilton; step-children, BM2 James Norman Blaydoe III, Christopher J. Blaydoe and Courtney Metzger; 11 grandchildren; and nine siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Robbins Sr. and Emma Robbins–Chesney; and brother, Frank Robbins Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 22 Battery St., Suite 612, San Francisco, CA 94111-5520, in honor of Michael’s desire to find a cure for brain tumors.
