Montana was born in Red Lodge, Mont. on Jan. 14, 1918. She attended schools in Washington State. In 1948, she began her career with the State of California, working in various departments until 1974 at which time she retired.
Tana was a talented photographer and watercolor artist. These interests were aided by the fact that she truly enjoyed being out of doors and in nature’s surroundings. It can be said that Tana was a woman ahead of her time, with her fierce independence and her lack of fear as far as standing up for what she believed in. Also, she was a most generous and caring person, touching the lives of all who she came into contact with. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Tana is survived by sister, Georgia O’Neill of Washington; nephews, Bret and James; and niece, Sandra. Private services were held. Please share your memories at www.allenmortuary.com.
