Peggy Dougherty was born March 1, 1927 in Exeter, CA to James and Margaret Dougherty, and lived most of her life in Delhi, CA. She was the third of four children, including: Jimmy Dougherty, Mary Rodarmel, and Catherine Peachee.
Waiting for her in Heaven on January 18 was her Beloved Father in Heaven as well as her Mom and Dad: James and Margaret Dougherty, and her brother Jimmy Dougherty, her sister Catherine Peachee, her much loved brother-in-law Ray Rodarmel, her nephew Mike Peachee and her niece Patty Costner.
Peggy was a devoted Catholic who always had a rosary in her hands, praying for her family and all those who needed prayers. She was a care giver for her mother Margaret, and her brother Jimmy until they passed. Then, she moved down to Lemoore to live with her loving sister, Mary Rodarmel. They loved dressing the same to confuse the doctors because they were always called “twins” even thinking alike. As a child, she loved the horses her dad trained and loved to ride. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choirs. She could yodel with the best of them.
Peggy leaves to cherish her memories her loving sister Mary Rodarmel of Lemoore, CA, her nieces and nephews to whom she was a second mom: Willard Rodarmel (Barbara) of Lemoore, Margaret Coelho (Steve) of Hanford, Linda Schrack (Jim) of Selma, Mike Rodarmel (Sharon) of Hanford, Brenda Rodarmel (John) of Fresno, Peggy Props (Richie) of Johnstown, Colorado, Karen Gehring (Delayne) of Madera, and several great and great great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. A Vigil Rosary will be held on Monday, January 28, at 6:00 PM at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, at 1:00 PM at North Hilmar Cemetery.
