Pete Michael Bougoukalos, 58, of Delhi, passed away at his home on Monday. He was born on Feb. 27, 1952 in Turlock. He was the son of Sylvia and Michael Bougoukalos.
As a young boy, Pete learned the ways of raising successful crops from his father. He was an outstanding athlete at Livingston High School, where he wrestled, swam and played football. He graduated in 1970, and then attended the University of California, Davis, where he continued wrestling. After college Pete returned to Delhi to run the family farm. He was a lineman for Pacific Bell and later for Turlock Irrigation District, where he worked for 23 years.
Pete never had any trouble making friends. He always greeted people with a warm smile and entertained them with countless stories. He enjoyed skiing, swimming, fishing, helping others, and more than anything, he loved being with his family and friends.
Pete is survived by his wife, Karen Bougoukalos, of Delhi; daughters, Ashley and her husband, Mike, Weaver of Turlock and Amy Bougoukalos of Turlock; sisters, Katina Garner and Maria Schellhardt, both of Los Angeles; and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 5 at Turlock Memorial Park, located at 425 North Soderquist Rd.
