Signe Viola Swanson passed away on July 8, 2015 at the age of 93 with her family by her side in Modesto, CA.

She was born August 24, 1921 in a farm house on Lander Avenue in Turlock, CA., to Swedish born parents Carl and Frida Anderson. Signe attended Turlock grade school and graduated from Turlock High School, class of 1939. She also attended Oakland Business College. She was a full service bookkeeper for the McHenry Village Drug Store and later worked for the Modesto City Schools Transportation Department.

Signe was an excellent cook, seamstress and avid gardener. The joy of her life was being around her family and attending the many activities of her nieces and nephews. Holidays at her house were always special, many including a traditional Swedish Smorgasbord. She was loyal to her family and unconditionally loved them, always the first to lend a helping hand.

Signe is preceded in death by her husband Roy Swanson who was the love of her life.

Signe is survived by her sister, Elsie Evans of Modesto; nephews Gary Evans (Sylvia) of Idaho, Robert Evans of Modesto, Dennis Evans of San Francisco and Sally Cran of Modesto; her Great-nephews Ryan and Stuart and Great-nieces Kim, Natalie (James), Cindy and Hazel; her Great-great nieces Shelly, Kelsey, Daysha; and Great-great-great nieces Anna, Sophia, Kymberli and Iris. Signe also leaves numerous cousins in Sweden.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Signe’s name to Community Hospice Memorial Fund, 4638 Spyres Way Modesto, CA., who took amazing care of her.

We will miss our “CiCi” but are grateful that she is now without pain. Burial is private.
