Vendor in support of Turlock Certified Farmers Market

I want to express the experience I had with the Turlock farmers’ market of 2015. It was my first year as a vendor and it was a wonderful and fun event! It was extremely organized, stress-free and supportive, and a happy place to be. I looked forward to each Saturday with excitement and gratitude.  The community was brought closer together and folks from surrounding towns fell in love with our market, and therefore our town! It was a win for vendors, customers, businesses and the town as a whole.

I am deeply saddened and shocked that after all the hard work by the market’s board that the mayor and council’s support is so easily swayed. It doesn't make any sense and I wonder what the motivation truly is. There are many concerns that need to be addressed, and it feels very secretive.

Our farmers’ market needs to continue to be operated by the Turlock Certified Farmers’ Market non-profit organization. The market made me proud to say I'm from Turlock! The right thing needs to be done.

Thank you,
