The Denair High Coyotes varsity football team is still winless in the Southern Athletic League after dropping its fifth straight league match last Friday.

The Coyotes played host to Ripon Christian and the Knights were on fire as they shutout the Coyotes for the first time this season, 31-0.

Denair had a tough time moving the chains as they only tallied nine first downs in a very convincing game for the Knights.

Knights quarterback Billy Marr went 9-for-15 and accumulated 252 passing yards while tossing four touchdowns.

The Knights running game was also consistent, averaging over 5.6 yards per carry, but they only came away with 139 yards after using six different ball carriers.

RC improves to 6-2 and 3-2 in league. Denair is now 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the SAL.

The next game for Denair will be at Le Grand High against the Bulldogs (6-2) who are perfect in league at 5-0. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
