Pitman, which has been neck and neck with Merced all season long, placed second for both the girls and boys in the Central California Conference Championship meet that took place at Golden Valley High on Saturday to finish just behind Merced in the CCC.
Pride boys standout performances came from Gavin Madrigal, who placed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.95. Josh Buck took first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 56.89.
For the girls, Audrey Morgan topped out with the best finish after placing second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 58.71. Jordyn Kennell placed third in the 100 yard butterfly.
The Turlock girls finished third and the boys placed fifth for the day in what was a tough, yet learning experience for the inexperienced 'Dogs.
Sarah Phillips topped out with the best finish for the Turlock girls side, taking second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.59
For the boys, Trent Yandell topped out in second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.25.
Next for both Turlock and Pitman High will be the Section Diving Trials beginning Thursday and the Section trials for swimming will begin on May 14.
