Another Turlocker will soon get the chance to work coaching great Jim Harbaugh. Turlock Christian football coach Jake Von Scherrer was selected to be one of 100 guest coaches from around the country to appear at the first annual Jim Harbaugh Michigan Wolverine Football Camp for High School.

“Obviously, I am very excited about this opportunity,” said Von Scherrer.

Last year, Von Scherrer led the Eagles to their first regular season victory since Sept. 14, 2012. Von Scherrer came to  Turlock Christian in 2014, taking over as the school's athletic director and head coach of the football team. He has 30 years of experience in athletic leadership, along with 14 years as a head football coach, and seven years coaching at the collegiate level.

Von Scherrer applied for the position for many reasons, including getting the opportunity to grasp as many football insights as he can from the former head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

Although not a Niners fan, Von Scherrer is looking forward to learning everything he can from the veteran coach.

“To add that to my tool box, I think it would be neat,” Von Scherrer said.

The camp will also include collegiate coaches and former and present professional players from around the nation.

"Our vision for the University of Michigan Football Camp is to bring together players and coaches in all different levels from around the country to provide maximum exposure for our great game of football," Harbaugh said in a statement.

The camp is set to run from June 14 -17 in Ann Arbor at the campus of  the University of Michigan.

"I can't wait to sit with coaches from other parts of the country and exchange ideas, it's what makes the experience so valuable," said Von Scherrer.
