Turlock High’s girls tennis team is a perfect 6-0 in the Central California Conference thus far,  after defeating  Merced High, 6-3, on Tuesday at home.

“Next week is the last week so if we keep going at this pace we will be undefeated, but we just take one match at a time,” said Turlock head coach Linda Bejaran. “We are happy with this win and now we will train and get ready for Golden Valley.”

Five of the Bulldogs' six victories came in straight sets.

“Not as many three sets this time, but we still had to work for every point,” said Bejaran. “I am proud of the girls because they have been working so hard at practice and running around chasing balls and working on the mental aspect and working for every point, which is what I’m talking about.”

Lauren Carlson, who has yet to lose this season, once again dominated the court against Merced’s Jammee Illescas, 6-4 and 7-5.

Emely Fernandez and Mehr Sahoto defeated Ally Alvarez and Alexa Lua, 6-4 and 6-2, for the only straight set victory in the doubles matches.
