A flurry of youth sports camps are once again slated for the spring season, thanks to a handful of local organizations and teams.

Turlock Sports Park

For families looking for free fun for their children, the Turlock Sports Park will be hosting a spring coed soccer clinic this Saturday, where registrants will receive a training session with licensed professional coaches and trainers on the fundamental skills of the game. There will be different sessions for children ages 3 through 15, with the first groups slated to start at 10 a.m. Registration is open through Friday at www.turlocksportspark.com

The Turlock Sports Park is also accepting registration for their youth recreational soccer and basketball leagues. 

The soccer leagues will last nine weeks, beginning on April 20, with the following age groups: 2.5 to 3.5: 5v5 (No goalie), 3.5 to 6:  6v6 (No goalie), 7 to 10: 7v7, 11 to 13: 7v7. Price for each age group is $149.

For their outdoor basketball season, there will be five age-divided leagues that will run the course of almost two months beginning on April 22. Age groups are 5U Recreational, 7U Recreational, 9U Recreational, 11U Intermediate and 13U Intermediate. The younger recreational age groups will have more relaxed rules for player development, while intermediates will experience stricter rules to ensure they understand the game as they develop. Registration is $115.

Stanislaus State Athletic

Why play one when you can play them all? Children can literally take a turn at multiple sports from April 1-4 when Stanislaus State hosts their annual Spring Break All-Sports Camps. 

Over 16 sports and activities will be offered, including soccer, basketball, track and field, badminton, frisbee, golf, futsal, hockey, flag football, softball, baseball, team handball, capture the flag and dodgeball. Each day, participants will be placed in a group according to age, size and ability where they will experience a series of different activities every day, culminating in a mini-Olympic tournament on the final day. Academica SC

Registration for Academica Soccer Club’s Spring Break Soccer Camp is now open for kids ages 4 through 12 from April 2-4. The camp will focus on players getting real practice while still having fun and learning to love the game. Campers will get to learn from Academica USL staff and players/ The cost is $75 for all 3 days with options for partial sessions. The club will also automatically apply “sibling discounts” of $15 for multiple three-day camper siblings. Those interested can register at www.academicasc.com/camps

Turlock Indoor Soccer

Soccer Pals is back at Turlock Indoor Soccer at 500 S. Center St. The annual six-week outreach program tailored for children with physical, cognitive and intellectual disabilities kicks off on April 8. The program is for kids ages 3 and up. Parents can register their child for $50 by visiting the facility or by calling (209) 634-5181.

Basketball at Backyard
The basketball program at Turlock’s Backyard Sports Academy will soon kick off their spring season on April 22. Age groups are 5-6, 7-9, 10-11 and 12-14. The registration fee for new players is $250 and $225 for returning players. Those interested can sign up at www.basketballatbackyard.org/registration.
