Turlock High and adjacent schools were put on lock down on the morning of Tuesday, September 10, 2019 after reports of shots fired were blurted out over the school radio. After a sweep of the campus, the reports were determined to be false — either a mistake, or a cruel hoax.

An estimated 200 protesters gathered along Geer Road in Turlock on the morning of May 9, 2020 to rally against the the current shelter-in-place orders and encourage local business owners to open their doors.
