The tent city that had been erected under the Golden State Boulevard overpass outside the Turlock city limits was dismantled by the Stanislaus County Public Works Department on the morning of November 15, 2018, leaving more than 50 homeless individuals looking for a place to sleep for the night and beyond.

An estimated 200 protesters gathered along Geer Road in Turlock on the morning of May 9, 2020 to rally against the the current shelter-in-place orders and encourage local business owners to open their doors.
