A burglary suspect was apprehended early Sunday just as he was preparing to leave with the stolen property.
Shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday the Turlock Police Department was notified that an alarm had been triggered at Turlock High School at 1600 E. Canal Drive.
The alarm was in the area of the girls’ gym, which is under construction, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.
Officers found a trailer at the site had been broken into and a search of the area revealed a window that had the screen pried off.
Officers called out to anyone in the trailer and a suspect, later identified as Cody Santos, 27, of Turlock, surrendered to the police.
Santos allegedly admitted to breaking into the trailer and was gathering up some of the stolen items when the police arrived, Rodrigues said.
Santos was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
