Delhi man identified in fatal crash
emergency

A three-vehicle collision outside Oakdale on Friday morning resulted in the death of a Delhi man.

The deceased was identified as Zach Coulter, 26, of Delhi.

The collision happened shortly after 6 a.m. Friday on Albers Road, just south of Warnerville Road.

Coulter was driving a Honda northbound on Albers Road at a reported high-rate of speed, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

The Honda rear-ended a Saturn and the impact of that collision sent the Honda veering into the southbound lane, where it struck a Ford head-on.

Coulter sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford suffered major injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Saturn had minor injuries.

The traffic collision is currently under investigation by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department as to the cause and sequence of events and at this time they have not ruled out if alcohol played a factor in the crash.

If anyone has information regarding this collision please contact Deputy Matthew Orr at the Riverbank Police Services at (209) 869-7162.
