The Turlock Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that injured one man.
The investigation is ongoing and as a result, the police department has released few details about the incident.
The shooting was reported at 6:48 p.m. Saturday in an alley in the 1300 block of Lambert Way. Several calls came in reporting shots fired in the area and at least one caller stated one man had been hit, said Detective Justin Williamson.
The victim was found near the entrance of the alley and Lambert Way. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. Williamson said the injury was non-life threatening.
Then victim had been standing with a group of three other people in the alley when a vehicle approached them and someone in the vehicle opened fire on them, Williamson said.
It’s suspected the victim was specifically targeted by the shooter. It’s unknown if the shooting was gang-related.
There were witnesses to the shooting and they were cooperating with investigators, Williamson said.
There was little information released regarding the description of the two suspects. Williamson said they were both Hispanic men in their 20s. There was no information released about the vehicle the suspects were riding in.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Detective Justin Williamson at 664-7331 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
