A man walking in the downtown industrial district was struck repeatedly with paintballs by an unknown assailant.

The attack happened shortly before 11 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of S. First Street.

The suspect was in a black four-door vehicle and fired multiple rounds at the victim. He was hit four times, causing abrasions, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Russ Holeman. The man did not know who shot him and the vehicle fled the area.
