Elderly woman hit crossing street

A 75-year-old Turlock woman was critically injured Friday night when she was struck by a car while crossing W. Main Street.

The woman, whose name was not released, sustained major life threatening injuries from the accident, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The accident was reported just before 7 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of W. Main Street.

The victim and a man were crossing W. Main Street from the north to the south towards the Cost Less parking lot when she was struck by a Honda Odyssey.

The Odyssey was traveling westbound on W. Main Street between 25 to 30 mph, according to the police report.

The woman was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The man walking with her was not injured.

No citations were issued at the time and the accident remains under investigation.
