Two adult women and a 2-year-old girl were held at gunpoint by three men who burst through the door of their Delhi home Tuesday morning.
The home invasion robbery was reported just before 3 a.m.at a residence in the 16000 block of Corner Street in Delhi.
The 48-year-old and 31-year-old women, along with the toddler, were asleep in the residence when the three men armed with handguns kicked in the front door and began demanding marijuana, said Merced County Sheriff spokesman Deputy Tom MacKenzie.
The suspects corralled them into one room and kept pointing their guns at them, demanding to know where the marijuana was hidden. The victims told the suspects that they didn’t have any marijuana and the suspects eventually left, Mackenzie said.
Investigators believe that the suspects possibly got the wrong house.
One of the victims believes that an ex-boyfriend used to be associated with someone who was growing medicinal marijuana and believes that may have been what the suspects were referring to, but she has no contact with him or his friends and the marijuana was not grown at that location.
The suspects were described as wearing black hoodies with bandanas covering their faces, medium height and possibly Hispanic.
