A man who spotted a woman riding his stolen bicycle Thursday afternoon also ended up in trouble with law enforcement after brandishing a knife at the suspected thief.

Around 2 p.m. Thursday Vicente Caldera, 20, spotted a woman, later identified as Sara Freitas, 33, on his bike, which had recently been stolen.

Caldera called the Turlock Police Department about the bike, but before officers could intervene, Caldera confronted Freitas over the bike and the two got into a verbal spat.

According to the police report, Caldera brandished a knife at Freitas during the heated exchange.

Officers caught up with them on S. First Street and detained both of them.

Freitas was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on a charge of receiving stolen property.
