A man is wanted for robbery for stealing a bottle of alcohol from a Turlock store after fighting with a loss prevention agent. During the struggle the thief dropped a curling iron he was also trying to abscond with, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The theft was reported at 3:57 p.m. Dec. 24 at the Rite Aid at 651 N. Golden State Boulevard.

The suspect entered the store and selected a curling iron and then proceeded over to the liquor aisle, where he picked up a bottle of alcohol. He then turned toward the door and attempted to exit the store without paying for the items, according to the police report.

The store’s loss prevention agent blocked the suspect’s exit and tried to apprehend him. The suspect fought with the loss prevention agent and in the process dropped the curling iron.

The suspect was able to hold onto the booze and broke free. He was last seen riding away on a bicycle.

A description of the suspect was not available.
