A Modesto man is under arrest on allegations he sexually assaulted a Turlock teenager and investigators suspect there could be additional victims.

The suspect, Christian Alberto Alvarado, 26, was arrested at his Modesto home on Wednesday morning. He was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on a felony charge of oral copulation with a person under 18 years of age.

The Turlock Police Department stated the victim is a 16-year-old Turlock girl.

According to the police department, the girl said she was sexually assaulted by Alvarado at a Turlock motel. The report was made on April 17 and the alleged assault happened several days before the girl came forward.

“We applaud the courage of the young woman who came forward to report this,” said Turlock Police Lt. Neil Cervenka. “She will never know how many other crimes this may prevent."

The officer conducting the initial investigation was able to gather enough evidence of this crime to make the arrest, however, the whereabouts of Alvarado were not known at that time.

Through the course of the investigation, information was discovered that there may be additional victims who have not come forward. The Turlock Police Department urges anyone who has been a victim involving Alvarado, or any other victims of sexual assault or other crimes, to file a report with local authorities.
