Man critically wounded in shooting

The Turlock Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man with what was described as “life-threatening” injuries.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday the police department received multiple 911 calls reporting the sound of gunshots fired in the 600 block of Twentieth Century Boulevard. At least one caller also stated a man could be heard yelling that he had been shot.

The first officers to arrive at the scene found a 44-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and lower back, said police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis. The gunshot victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. His current condition is unknown.

The police department has not released any further details about the shooting or any suspect information.
