A Riverbank man was killed Tuesday night when he tried to run across Highway 99 in Turlock and was hit by two vehicles.

The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol around 11 p.m. Tuesday and was in the area of the Lander Avenue off-ramp.

Dipali Vasadia, 40, of Santa Rosa was driving a 2018 Chevrolet southbound on Highway 99 when the man ran from the center divider into the right side of the Chevrolet, according to the CHP.

The CHP said the man continued in a westerly direction and was hit by a 2018 Volvo semi-truck, driven by Arnold Valencia, 36, of Atwater.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing and it has not been determined yet if alcohol or drugs were a factor on the part of the deceased.
