A Ceres man was arrested after police found him with a loaded firearm in a vehicle reported to have been on the scene of a Turlock drive-by shooting.
Turlock Police was called at approximately 11:53 p.m. Saturday to the area of S. Orange and Lewis streets for a report of shots fired. A witness said she heard multiple gun shots and then heard a vehicle speed away.
The witness reviewed her own video surveillance and said saw what appeared to be shots being fired from a black GMC SUV. While on scene, officers located casings and the witness informed an assisting officer that a vehicle which she believed was the responsible vehicle drove past the scene.
Based on the information provided, assisting officers performed a high risk-stop on the vehicle. Pablo Valdivia- Flores, a 47 year old Ceres resident, was detained in the stop and was in the passenger seat of the vehicle. In plain view was a firearm near where Valdivia- Flores was seated. The firearm was not registered to Pablo and had live ammo in the chamber.
Valdivia- Flores was arrested and transported to the Stanislaus County Jail where he was booked for carrying a loaded handgun that wasn’t registered, carrying a loaded concealed weapon on person, and willful discharge of firearm in a negligent manner.
