An arrest of a suspected shoplifter by the Turlock Police Department led to an additional arrest of a man on charges of possession of heroin and methamphetamine.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday officers responded to the Tractor Supply store at 201 N. Walnut Road for a reported theft.

According to the police report, Sara Sanchez-Morales, 27, had concealed merchandise in her purse and then left the store. She was contacted by the officers before she was able to leave the area.

While officers spoke with Sanchez-Morales, it was discovered her companion, John Tenbrink, 47, was in possession of a sizeable stash of heroin and methamphetamine.

Sanchez-Morales was charged with petty theft and Tenbrink was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for sale.
