Police search for robbery suspect

The Turlock Police Department is searching for a robbery suspect who absconded with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Turlock convenience store.

The suspect was armed with a handgun, though no injuries were reported from the robbery.

The robbery was reported at 8:49 p.m. Wednesday in the 2300 block of Fulkerth Road.

The male suspect entered the store with a face covering on and was in the process of buying some merchandise, when he suddenly changed course.

The suspect, showing the handgun, came around the counter and stole money out of the register, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Mike Parmley.

The suspect fled the store on foot and was seen jumping a fence on the south side of Fulkerth Road.

"Officers checked multiple backyards but were not able to locate the suspect," Parmley said.

Video surveillance of the suspect was available, however, the suspect has not been identified at this point.
