Witnesses to a robbery at a Turlock store Saturday afternoon were able to give responding police officers valuable information that led to the arrest of the suspect, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The robbery occurred at the CVS store at 3100 Geer Road around 4 p.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.

The suspect entered the store with a bag, which he began filling up with merchandise. He left the store without paying for any of the items, but was confronted by a store employee outside the business.

The suspect pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the employee and then fled on foot, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman.

Witnesses to the robbery were able to give the officers a detailed description of the suspect and the direction he ran. This information led officers to Hayes Drive, where they located Cole Tyler, 25.

Tyler was identified as the robber and taken into custody on suspicion of robbery. The gun used in the robbery was a “realistic BB gun” which officers found discarded in a nearby yard, Holeman said.
