Runaway boys found safe

The two boys who ran away from their Turlock home Thursday morning were found later that night at a fast food restaurant in Livingston.

Owen Michael Robertson, 11, and James Michael Bowen, 13, were last seen at 8 a.m. Thursday leaving their northeast Turlock home on foot, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Several hours later and well past nightfall, the two were located at a Taco Bell in Livingston.

Investigators have not revealed how the two made it to Livingston, but did state no suspicious activity was involved.

An employee at the Taco Bell contacted the police about the two boys. About the same time one of the boys had called his parents to come pick them up, Lewis said.

“They were ready to go back home,” Lewis said.

It’s unknown what prompted the two boys to run away from their home. The 13-year-old is the uncle of the 11-year-old and they live at the same home.

The boys were considered at-risk runaways because they had never left home before on their own and because of their age.
