The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is advising the public to be on the lookout for a murder suspect who was last seen in the area after crashing his vehicle outside of Turlock.

The suspect, Alejandro Ruvacalba, 32, is wanted for the murder of Anthony Quismondo, 42, who was shot Wednesday on Waterloo Road in Stockton.

Ruvacalba should be considered armed and dangerous.

The vehicle collision happened around 6 a.m. Thursday in the 8200 block of Keyes Road. Witnesses tried approaching the man, later identified as Ruvacalba, and he told them he had a gun and ran from the wreckage, according to the sheriff’s department.

Law enforcement established a perimeter in the area and began searching for Ruvacalba. Other witnesses reported seeing him and one trucker told deputies he tried to get a ride from him. The sheriff’s department utilized their air support and K9 units, but Ruvacalba was not located.

As of Friday, the suspect was still being sought.

Ruvalcalba was wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark pants. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds. He has black hair and is missing one eye.

The sheriff’s department warned people to not approach Ruvacalba. Anyone seeing the suspect should call 911 immediately.
