Teens face robbery charges

Two teenagers are facing robbery charges after a shoplifting at a Turlock grocery store went awry.
The two teens, a 14-year-old boy and 18-year-old Scott Tackett entered the Save Mart store at 2595 Geer Rd. around 9 p.m. Friday. According to the Turlock Police Department, the two tried to steal cough and cold medications and pastries, but were stopped by the store’s loss prevention agents.
The police report stated the 14-year-old started fighting with the agents and that Tackett jumped on one of the employee’s backs as they were taking the juvenile into custody. The juvenile kicked another employee in the stomach during the struggle.
Both were eventually taken into custody by the police and the juvenile was released with a court date to his mother. On the way to the Stanislaus County Jail, Tackett began threatening the officer’s family, home, and property according to the police report and was booked on an additional charge of threatening a peace officer.
