Two teenagers were arrested by the Turlock Police Department on charges of robbing an eatery and beating the cook.

Around 3:30 p.m. Thursday a 16-year-old girl from Turlock and her 17-year-old boyfriend from Modesto were at the Taco Bus at 200 W. Canal Dr.

According to the police report, the boy started beating the cook while the girl stole the money out of the register. During the beating the boy threatened the cook with a knife, said Turlock Police Lt. Steve Williams.

A Turlock motorcycle officer was flagged down soon after the pair fled the scene and told of the robbery. He spotted the teens a few blocks away near Geer Road and Syracuse Avenue.

Both were taken into custody and were booked at Juvenile Hall for felony robbery and conspiracy. The boy was also charged with brandishing a knife.

During the booking process officials found the stolen money hidden in the girl’s underwear.
