Turlock defendant admits to sexual abuse of minor
gomes
Robert Daniel Gomes

A Turlock man has changed his plea to guilty on multiple charges of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Robert Daniel Gomes, 34, entered guilty pleas to eight felony counts of sexual abuse, including continuous sexual abuse of a child, sodomy, oral copulation, and unlawful sexual intercourse on Thursday in Stanislaus County Superior Court.

Gomes was accused of assaulting a 13-year-old girl over a three year period while he was dating her mother. The victim reported the abuse when she was 16 years old.

Gomes’ guilty plea is not part of a plea deal. He could be facing up to 20 years behind bars for the multiple felony counts.

Gomes is currently free on bail. He returns to court Sept. 23 for a motion to have his bail revoked. His remaining free until his sentencing was a condition of him entering his guilty plea.
