An investigation months in the making led to the arrest of a Turlock man earlier this week on allegations of child pornography possession.

Brian Bills, 60, of Turlock was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of distributing and possessing child pornography. Bills remains in custody at the Stanislaus County jail in lieu of a $45,000 bail.

Bills’ arrest was initiated by Turlock Police Detective Tim Redd, who first came across the suspect while monitoring known child pornography sharing web sites, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

In June, Redd found evidence that Bills’ computer was being used to share child pornography images.

A search warrant was served at Bills’ residence in the 3000 block of N. Walnut Road in July. A computer was seized and a forensic analysis revealed thousands of child pornography images, Parmley said.

Parmley said none of the images were of local children.

Bills was arrested on Tuesday when he went to the police department to pick up his computer.
