A couple’s fight took a dangerous turn when a pair of scissors came into play, resulting in injuries to one party and an arrest for the other.

Leanna Bejarano, 27, was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon following the Sunday afternoon altercation.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 300 block of Florence Street.

Bejarano and the male victim were engaged in a verbal dispute when Bejarano picked up a pair of scissors and swung them at the man, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Russ Holeman.

As the scissors were being swung the man raised his arm to protect himself and sustained a laceration on his forearm.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail.
