The Merced County Sheriff’s Department has identified the man killed in a Ballico collision as Max Dalhgren of Turlock.

Dalhgren died at the scene of the collision around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the area of El Capitan Way and Santa Fe Drive in Ballico.

Dalhgren was riding his motorcycle on El Capitan Way and was attempting to pass a sewage truck when the truck turned left and collided with Delhgren.

The driver of the truck, Travis Borrelli, 37, of Turlock was not injured.

The California Highway Patrol initially stated Dalhgren was 56 years old, but the coroner’s office said he was 59 years old and that his death on Tuesday fell the day before his 60th birthday.

The CHP is continuing the investigation into the collision.
