Woman assaults store clerk

A woman entered a Turlock store with the goal of returning some merchandise. She left in handcuffs.

Charlene Heidelbach, 49, was arrested for battery after she allegedly assaulted an employee of the Clothes Avenue store at 1832 Countryside Dr. Tuesday morning, the Turlock Police Department reported.

After being told by a store employee that they could not return her merchandise, Heidelbach allegedly got so upset that she started pulling clothes off the racks and then punched the store employee.

No serious injuries were reported.
