A summer camp for junior high age youth aims to get them excited about math.

Sundar S.T.E.A.M. Academy will once again be providing a summer camps for students entering 6th-8th grade in fall 2021.

The Geometry and Algebra camps will be held on July 19-30.

“Our Geometry Camp ensures connection and context of geometry and the concepts in engineering,” said Viji Sundar, owner and program director of Sundar Academy. “The Algebra Camp will review equations, inequalities, number sense and fractions to get them ready to start the school year with confidence.”

Giving equal educational access for all children in the Central Valley and beyond is Sundar’s vision for the program and future camps. 

Sundar Institute provides after-school programs that engage K-12 students in mathematics, science, engineering, technology, reading and writing, communication and Spanish language.

 “One of the main reasons why I wanted to open Sundar Institute was to offer a place where students can obtain academic support with their grade level math concepts. The programs provide ongoing reinforcement on missing/misunderstood concepts and enrichment,” said Sundar. “My goal is to work with all the school districts in this community.”

Schedule for the camps is as follows:

Geometry Camp: Monday- Friday, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. July 19-23 and July 26- 30.

Registration Deadline: July 12-19.

Algebra Camp: Monday- Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 19-23 and July 26-30.

Registration Deadline: July 12- 19

The cost for each camp is $100 which includes supplies.  Each week’s supplies will be mailed when the registration form is received.
