Osborn Two-Way Immersion students act out a protest in honor of the late labor movement activist Cesar Chavez Wednesday morning.  All 3rd grade classes are learning about civil rights and wanted to honor Chavez for what would be his 91st birthday March 31.  The students sang songs and read information about the life of Chavez during their morning opening Wednesday.

Stanislaus State ranked among nation’s best colleges

Stanislaus State’s Academic Senate voted in favor of a bill that would require students enrolled in all 23 California State University campuses to take one 3-credit unit of any qualifying Ethnic Studies course before they graduate (Journal file photo).
